QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti commended security forces and police for a successful joint operation in Surab district that left 18 terrorists dead, while simultaneously expressing deep regret over the loss of three civilian lives during the clash.
The operation, which targeted suspected terrorist hideouts in the region, also resulted in injuries to several military personnel. Officials noted that part of the militant casualties occurred when explosive materials in their possession detonated during the engagement.
Speaking on the outcome, Chief Minister Bugti praised the rapid deployment of law enforcement but stressed the government’s grave concern for the non-combatants caught in the crossfire. He assured the affected families of full state support, emphasising that civilian sacrifices in the struggle against violence would not be forgotten.
Bugti reiterated that intelligence-led security measures will continue across Balochistan to dismantle armed groups and their support networks, maintaining that public safety and regional stability remain the provincial government’s top priority.
