Producer of Samaa TV Athar Mateen was killed in a firing incident in Karachi’s North Nazimabad area on Friday morning.
Police sources said armed accused opened fire and killed the senior journalist. The assailants escaped unhurt from the spot. The dead body was shifted to a nearby hospital.
Police reached the spot as an investigation into the incident went underway. Athar Mateen had worked in Aaj TV and various news organisations for a long time.
Currently, Athar was working as a producer in Samaa TV.
Journalists community has expressed grief and sorrows over the incident. They have demanded of the government to arrest the culprits involved in the attack.
