PANJGUR: Chief Secretary Balochistan, Mathar Niaz Rana has said that the provincial government would allocate 25 percent budget for local bodies in Balochistan. The CS arrived in Panjgur on Saturday and reviewed the development projects and arrangements for the upcoming local bodies’ elections.

“This government has decided to develop far-flung areas of Balochistan”, Mr. Rana said. He however urged the district officers to play their due role in the success of the LBs elections in the district.

Maximum participation of masses is required in the LBs elections”, Mr. Rana told the district officers attending the meeting. The CS urged the district administration to be impartial and play a very positive role in the holding of the LBs elections in the Panjgur district. LBs elections are scheduled to be held on May 29th across Balochistan except for the Quetta and Lasbella districts where the election commission of Pakistan has delayed the polls because of some delimitation issues.

Regarding border issues, the CS said that law enforcement agencies would be contacted to address the grievances of the masses of the bordering areas. No restrictions on commodities and other items, he said. The provincial government was determined to support the people living near the Iranian border, he added. He also directed the concerned officers to expedite the pace of development projects to make sure provision of basic facilities to the masses.
