Manan Mandokhail:
Pakistan Tehrik e Insaf (PTI) supporters staged protest demonstrations in various parts of Balochistan to protest against what the party says was an assassination attempt against the former prime minister Imran Khan. PTI supporters took out a protest rally in Quetta which turned into a protest demonstration at the main Manan Chowk after passing through different roads of the city.
“We want the arrest of the killers”, Qasam Suri, the former deputy speaker national assembly told the highly-charged party supporters. The protesters blocked the main Manan Chowk Quetta to vent their anger. They also chanted full-throated slogans against the federal government for what they claim was its failure to provide security to the former prime minister Imran Khan.
“PTI would not bow down before anyone and will continue its struggle”, Noor Khan Khilji, the local leader of the PTI said. The party leaders lashed out at the government and reiterated that it was an ‘imported government’ imposed by outsiders. “Masses of Pakistan would not accept this slavery”, Qasim Suri, the former deputy speaker national assembly vowed. He said the masses would resist any conspiracy against the country.
Former Mayor of Quetta, Muhammad Rahim Kakar and other leaders also addressed the protest rally.
PTI supporters also staged protest demonstrations in Loralai, Barkhan and other cities of Balochistan. The Balochistan government had taken strict security measures to maintain law and order situation on the eve of the protest demonstration by the supporters of the former prime minister Imran Khan.
