Health Secretary Balochistan, Akbar Harifal kicked off an anti-polio campaign in 6 districts of Balochistan by administering the anti-polio vaccine to children. Speaking to the media on this occasion, Health Secretary Akbar Harifal said that no case of polio has been reported in Balochistan for the past two years, which is a sign of positive progress.

He appreciated the efforts of all stakeholders in this regard. Expressing his determination, he said he will continue to perform his services in the same way.  Balochistan Emergency Operation Center Coordinator, Syed Zahid Shah along with concerned officials was also present on this occasion.

The health secretary informed the press about the details and said that the campaign is going on in 203 union councils of six districts of Balochistan. In the last two years, no case of poliovirus has been found in Quetta block, the health secretary added that if there is no case for another two years, then the whole concept will be over. Due to the efforts of religious scholars, district administration and other social institutions, efforts were on to administer polio drops to children in tough areas of Balochistan.
