Customs Enforcement Quetta foiled attempts of currency smuggling

In a single day Collectorate of Customs Enforcement Quetta, foiled three attempts of currency smuggling in huge amounts via the Chaman Friendship Gate.

The Customs staff posted at Friendship Gate Chaman in collaboration with Army unit AK 40 recovered an amount of Rs 1,590,000/- being illegally transferred, by a Pakistani citizen travelling from Afghanistan to Pakistan on Monday. A person has been arrested, FIR has been lodged and currency has been seized.

On the same day, two other joint operations were conducted. In one of the operations, the staff of the collectorate posted at Chaman in collaboration with Army unit AK 40, posted at the FS gate recovered an amount of US $ 1,03,400/- being illegally transferred, by a Pakistani person travelling from Afghanistan to Pakistan. A person has been arrested, FIR has been lodged and currency has been seized.

In the other operation, a Pakistani citizen travelling from Afghanistan to Pakistan was carrying Rs. 20,15,000. The person has been arrested and a seizure has been made. On Tuesday last week Rs. 14,90,000 was seized from a passenger leaving for Afghanistan. The currency was seized and the person had been arrested.

On Saturday last week Customs staff in collaboration with the Army staff posted at Chaman Friendship Gate recovered Rs. 14,277 Mn from a passenger leaving for Afghanistan. The currency was seized, a passenger was arrested and FIR was lodged.
