QUETTA: Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Quddus Bizenjo on Wednesday said that the financial condition of the provincial government was serious and that it was not in a position to pay the salaries of the government employees. The CM has expressed serious concern over the prevailing financial crisis, an official handout issued here said.

He said official matters were badly paralyzed because of the prevailing financial crisis. He said that the federal government was apprised of the financial position of the province. However, the federal government is yet to translate its words into action, he said.

Mr. Bizenjo said the flood-affected people were in desperate need of support and that the provincial government was not in a position to support them due to the financial crisis. “We demand our fair share in the national finance commission award”, he said.

This situation has developed a sense of deprivation among the people of Balochistan, Mr. Bizenjo said. He said Balochistan had already faced the brunt of climate change and global warming and that the federal government should support all possible support to the provincial government in addressing the issues of the masses.

He reiterated the demand for the payment of outstanding the PPL share for Balochistan.
