3000 policemen deployed for security of PSL match in Quetta: DIG Police

Over 3000 policemen have been deployed for the security of the first Pakistan Super League (PSL) match in Quetta. This was revealed by the Deputy Inspector General (DIG) of Police Quetta, Azfar Maisar while addressing a press conference at Quetta Press Club on Saturday. Other senior officers were also present on the occasion.

Quetta Gladiators and Peshawar Zalmai are all set to face each other at the eighth PSL match in Quetta, the provincial capital of Balochistan. The provincial government has evolved a foolproof security plan to provide security to players and spectators of the match.

“Only vehicles with specific stickers would be allowed to enter the stadium”, the DIG police informed. He said the cricket fans having tickets would be allowed to enter the ground and witness the historic PSL match in Quetta’s Nawab Akbar Bugti Stadium. Baton-wielding policemen have been deployed at all roads leading towards the stadium to maintain the law and order situation in the city.

The Deputy Police Chief of Quetta urged the masses to cooperate with security personnel to make sure peace on the eve of the historic cricket match. He however asked the people to be responsible on social media when it comes to the PSL match in Quetta.
