The Balochistan High Court (BHC) declared the selection process of 61 posts of sub engineers in the provincial irrigation department null and void and with no legal effect.

Chief Justice Mr. Justice Naeem Akhtar Afghan issued a detailed judgment with regard to the appointment of 61 posts of sub engineers in the Irrigation department.

Senior lawyer Naseebullah Tareen who is currently the Chairman Services Tribunal Balochistan and other lawyers had challenged the appointment process in the irrigation department. The Advocate General Balochistan, Muhammad Asif Reki appeared before the court on behalf of the provincial government.

DAE in Civil Technology compulsory for eligibility: Judge

The court declared the Diploma of Associate Engineering (DAE) in Civil Technology compulsory for eligibility to appear in the test and interview. In his judgment, the top judge of the province directed the department to send the 61 seats to the Balochistan Public Service Commission (BPSC) for appointment at the earliest to ensure the merit and transparency.
