Staff Reporter:

QUETTA: The Balochistan High Court (BHC) has asked candidates who appeared in testing tests of Sardar Bahadur Khan (SBK) women’s university to submit a written oath if someone has demanded bribery for the appointment of teachers. Around 200000 candidates participated in the tests conducted for around 9,000 posts of teachers in the education department.

A division bench of the court comprising Mr. Justice Kamran Malakhail and Mr. Justice Iqbal Ahmed Kasi passed this order on a constitutional petition challenging the recruitment through SBK Women’s University.

While approving one of the petitions for hearing, the bench remarked that when the constitutional petition filed against the Secretary of Secondary Education Balochistan was entered for hearing, the news became public particularly that posts in government departments in general and in the education department, in particular, were filled illegally and it was talk of the town that jobs are on sale.

Several plaintiffs appeared and leveled serious allegations against SBK tests

Even during the hearing of the said application, several plaintiffs appeared in the court with similar applications and complained about the same issue. The Hon’ble Court remarked that it seems that the public sector’s decision-making process in the departments is neither transparent nor impartial.

Even today some persons have filed affidavits that money has been demanded from their dear ones for posting on posts. The Hon’ble Court ordered that the Director of General Public Relations should issue a notice in the national and local newspapers to inform the public that any candidate who himself or his relative witnesses the demand or payment of such illegal money shall be prosecuted by the court.

Submit affidavits to the Registrar of BHC: the bench ordered

Submit an affidavit to the Registrar of the Balochistan High Court, the bench ordered.  The Hon’ble Court directed the Registrar to prepare a list of these persons for the perusal of the Court and to receive affidavits.

The honorable court ordered to send a copy of the order to DGPR for information and compliance. The Hon’ble Court extended the earlier interim order in this regard till the next hearing (September 21, 2023).
