QUETTA: A successful social media campaign prompted the Balochistan government to shift an injured of the Mastung blast to Karachi for a quality medical treatment. Inayatullah Shahwani was injured in a blast targeting the Jamiat ul Ulema e Islam (JUI) leader, Hafiz Hamdullah in the Mastung district of Balochistan few days back.
Hafiz Hamdullah was shifted to a quality private hospital in Karachi for medical treatment. However, Inayatullah was in the Trauma Center of civil hospital Quetta for medical treatment. A social media campaign raised so many questions about the double standard with regard to shifting of the injured.

“Shift the influential politician in a special plane and leave the poor battling for life in the poorly-equipped Quetta hospital”, Muhammad Sarwar, one of the social media activists lamented.
The successful campaign simultaneously launched on X and Facebook prompted the Caretaker Chief Minister Balochistan, Ali Mardan Domki to order an immediate relocating of the injured to Karachi from Quetta for medical treatment.
Inayatullah Shahwani was shifted to Karachi in a special plane on Wednesday. Scores of friends and family members were present on the occasion.
