QUETTA: Ghaffar Khan Achakzai, a dedicated paramedic at the Civil Hospital of Quetta, has lost his life in Karachi after a relentless battle against the Congo virus. This marks the second casualty in Balochistan, following the recent demise of Dr. Shakirullah Baloch.

Balochistan Chief Minister Ali Mardan Domki expressed heartfelt condolences for the fallen hero, Ghaffar Khan Achakzai, and paid tribute to all frontline healthcare workers who have sacrificed their lives in the line of duty. In a statement issued in Quetta, Chief Minister Domki praised the brave service of Shaheed Ghaffar Khan Achakzai, highlighting his unwavering commitment to public welfare.

The Fallen Hero Had Contracted the Congo Virus On Duty

Shaheed Ghaffar Khan Achakzai, who contracted the Congo virus while on duty, was initially treated at the Infectious Disease Center in Karachi. Unfortunately, despite the efforts of medical professionals, he succumbed to the virus, bringing the total number of deaths to two.

Caretaker Chief Minister Domki confirmed that the treatment of other doctors and healthcare workers affected by the Congo virus is currently underway in Karachi. The healthcare community continues to face the challenges posed by the virus, with many doctors and paramedic staff still receiving treatment in various hospitals in the city.

Govt Standsby Doctors In This Hour Of Trial

Caretaker Provincial Health Minister Dr. Amir Muhammad Jogezai assured that the Balochistan government is covering all expenses related to the treatment of the affected doctors and paramedics. The commitment to supporting these frontline heroes reflects the government’s dedication to overcoming the challenges posed by the Congo virus.

As the nation mourns the loss of another healthcare warrior, the focus remains on ongoing efforts to combat the Congo virus and provide comprehensive care for those affected.
