PKMAP leaders addressing a press conference: Photo Daily Quetta Voice

QUETTA: The Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party (PKMAP) on Sunday announced to stage protest demonstrations outside all deputy commissioners’ offices on December 19th (Tuesday). The party announced protest demonstrations in solidarity with the Chaman sit-in.

Addressing a press conference at the Quetta Press Club, Abdul Rahim Ziaratwal, the central leader of the party said that despite repeated appeals and requests, the federal government was reluctant to accept the demand of Chaman sit-in. Dr. Hamid Khan Achakzai, Syed Sharaf Agha and other party leaders were also present on the occasion.

Therefore, the party has decided to stage protest demos on December 19th to press the government for acceptance of Chaman sit-in’s demands, he mentioned.

Thousands of people have been protesting at the Pak-Afghan border Chaman against the introduction of passports and visa at the border for more than a month. “We demand the government to address the grievances of protesters in Chaman”, Mr. Ziaratwal said.
