QUETTA: The Balochistan government has initiated a crackdown against chronic absenteeism among doctors, medical professionals, and teachers across the province. As part of this effort, 40 doctors and other healthcare professionals were suspended from the province’s largest government-run hospital for the first time on Wednesday evening.

In a decisive move aimed at ensuring uninterrupted healthcare services, the Medical Superintendent of Bolan Medical Complex Hospital (BMC) has taken action against absenteeism, suspending 20 doctors and medical staff members. This directive followed a surprise visit by Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti to BMC Hospital last night, during which he reaffirmed his commitment to upholding public health standards.

Bugti Vows Monitoring, Improving Healthcare Facilities

The unannounced inspection by Chief Minister Bugti underscored the government’s dedication to monitoring and improving healthcare facilities across the province. Upon discovering absenteeism among medical personnel, he promptly ordered the suspension of those found neglecting their duties.

“Failure to provide health facilities to the people will not be tolerated,” emphasized Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, stressing the paramount importance of delivering quality healthcare services to the citizens of Balochistan.

BMC MS Also Sent a Letter To the Health Secretary

Furthermore, by the Chief Minister’s directive, the Medical Superintendent of BMC Hospital has forwarded a formal letter to the Health Secretary, outlining the suspensions and proposing further departmental actions to ensure accountability and efficiency within the healthcare system.

The swift and decisive action taken by the government reflects its unwavering commitment to prioritizing public health and ensuring that medical facilities operate at optimal capacity to meet the needs of the people of Balochistan.
