QUETTA: Aimal Wali Khan, the central leader of the Awami National Party would be a joint candidate of the ANP and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) from Balochistan for a senate general seat. “We have nominated Aimal Wali Khan as our candidate for senate elections”, Mabat Kakat, the provincial secretary general of the party told Daily Quetta Voice. He said the party has nominated Mr. Wali to ensure his represenation in the upper house.

The PPP has also backed Aimal Wali Khan from Balochistan as a receiprocal since the ANP supported the PPP in the recently held presidential elections. Asif Ali Zardari has directed the PPP lawmakers to support the ANP leader, a senior leader of the PPP revealed. “We will vote for Aimal Wali”, the PPP leader informed.

National Party (NP) has nominated Jan Muhammad Buledi as its candidate for the senate elections from Balochistan. Buledi is also backed by the PPP since the NP voted for President Asif Ali Zardari despite being part of the four-parites alliance formed against the alleged poll rigging in Balochistan.
