QUETTA: Balochistan National Party (BNP) Awami chief and Balochistan Assembly member Asad Baloch voiced strong criticisms regarding the province’s development and educational setbacks. Baloch highlighted the skewed allocation of resources and accused the federal government of marginalizing Balochistan.

Baloch condemned the recent provincial budget, claiming it neglects public welfare and serves the interests of a select few. He pointed out that no development schemes were included for his constituency, while Balochistan Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti and Provincial Finance Minister Shoaib Noshirwani allocated billions to their own areas. Baloch stressed the need for CPEC phase two to prioritize Gwadar, asserting that starting from Lahore would be unacceptable and detrimental to Balochistan’s development.

Education was another critical area Baloch addressed. He revealed that 1.5 million children are out of school in Balochistan, and the education sector is plagued by issues such as ghost teachers, with only 15,000 out of 60,000 actively working. Additionally, he noted that 7,000 engineers remain unemployed in the province.

Baloch urged the government to address these pressing issues and uphold constitutional commitments, emphasizing that the neglect and exploitation of Balochistan must end for peace and progress to prevail.
