Quetta – A new case of the Congo virus has been confirmed at the Fatima Jinnah Chest and TB Hospital in Quetta, adding to the ongoing health crisis in the region. The patient, a 25-year-old from Balochistan, tested positive for the virus and was immediately shifted to the hospital’s isolation ward, according to hospital sources.

This latest case brings the total number of Congo virus patients admitted to the hospital to 41, with the majority originating from Quetta. Tragically, nine of these patients have succumbed to the virus, heightening concerns among health officials and prompting an emergency declaration at the facility to manage the influx of cases.

The hospital staff has ramped up safety protocols and urged the public to take precautionary measures, especially in high-risk areas. Health experts emphasize the need for immediate medical attention if symptoms arise, as the Congo virus remains highly contagious and often fatal.

Local authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, striving to contain the virus’s spread and safeguard public health.
