Quetta — In a historic move to improve education standards across Balochistan, Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti has initiated a province-wide crackdown on absentee teachers, starting with the suspension of 90 teachers in Dera Bugti district.
This bold action marks the first time Balochistan has taken a serious stand against chronic absenteeism among educators, emphasizing the government’s commitment to quality education for every child.
A notification issued by the provincial government revealed that an Inquiry Committee, led by the Assistant Commissioner of Dera Bugti, will oversee the disciplinary actions.
“Even in my constituency, Dera Bugti, I will not tolerate habitually absent teachers,” CM Bugti stated, highlighting his commitment to a province-wide, indiscriminate crackdown.
Teachers found neglecting their duties will face dismissal, as the government seeks to restore accountability in the education sector.
Balochistan’s Education Minister, Miss Raheela Hameed Khan Durrani, also played a pivotal role in driving these reforms, ensuring seniority-based postings and rigorous oversight to improve teacher presence in schools.
Under her leadership, the education department aims to open every closed school, from Gwadar to Quetta and Zhob to Naseerabad, ensuring no child is left without access to education.
“There will be no compromise on education,” declared CM Bugti, reinforcing the government’s zero-tolerance stance on absenteeism.
