A devastating explosion in Turbat on Saturday claimed the lives of four individuals and left over 30 others injured, including Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Zohaib Mohsin, who sustained minor injuries. Balochistan government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that SSP Mohsin was treated at a nearby hospital and is in stable condition.
The blast occurred in a suburban area of Turbat when a remote-controlled bomb, planted in a motorcycle, targeted a passenger bus. The powerful explosion caused chaos in the busy area, with rescue operations rushing the injured to local hospitals. Emergency services are providing urgent medical care to the victims.
Chief Minister Balochistan, Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, strongly condemned the attack, expressing grief over the loss of lives. “This heinous act of targeting innocent civilians is beyond humanity. The perpetrators will be brought to justice,” he stated. The chief minister extended condolences to the bereaved families and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.
The banned Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA) has claimed responsibility for the attack. Security forces and bomb disposal units have cordoned off the area as investigations continue to gather evidence and identify those responsible for the bombing.
