Senior Provincial Minister of Balochistan and Parliamentary Leader of the People’s Party, Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, has expressed immense satisfaction over the inauguration of the New Gwadar International Airport, calling it a milestone in the province’s development.
In his congratulatory message, the Provincial Minister for Irrigation highlighted the airport’s significance in boosting economic growth and stability in Balochistan. “The operationalization of Gwadar Airport will pave the way for prosperity, fostering domestic and international trade, tourism, and investment,” said Umrani. He further emphasized that this project would create new employment opportunities for the youth.
The minister praised the phased completion of China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects, including Gwadar Airport, as key to accelerating Balochistan’s development. “CPEC-related projects will enhance infrastructure and significantly increase economic activities in the province,” he noted.
Umrani also urged the federal government to expedite work on the western route of CPEC, emphasizing its role in ensuring inclusive growth for the region.
The New Gwadar International Airport, Pakistan’s largest, marks a major leap forward in connecting Balochistan to global markets. It is expected to open new avenues for trade, investment, and tourism, enhancing Gwadar’s strategic significance.
