Quetta: The mystery behind the murder of 15-year-old US-born girl Hira has been solved, as her parents confessed to the crime, citing her social media activity as the reason for the killing, according to SSP Serious Crime Wing Muhammad Zohaib Mohsin.

The police revealed that Hira’s father, Anwarul Haq, who had been living in the United States for 28 years, planned the murder with her uncle.

The family, holding dual US-Pakistani citizenship, arrived in Lahore on January 15 before traveling to Quetta on January 22, where the crime was committed.

According to police investigations, Hira had been posting videos on social media, which her family strongly disapproved of.

Her father and uncle, unable to tolerate her online presence, decided to take her life in what appears to be an honor killing.

The story was first reported earlier, but new details confirm the motive behind the murder.

The police continue their investigation, emphasizing the need to address violence against women and girls under the pretext of family honor.
