Quetta: After decades of struggle, the Balochistan Board of Revenue has granted land ownership rights to the residents of Dera Murad Jamali (Nasirabad Township Scheme) with the approval of the provincial cabinet. This long-awaited decision fulfills a major demand of the local population.
Mir Muhammad Sadiq Umrani, Balochistan Minister for Irrigation played a key role in securing these rights for the people of DM Jamali. He hailed the move as a historic milestone, stating that legal ownership would boost economic growth and open doors for further development. He assured residents that additional infrastructure projects would follow to enhance the region’s progress.
According to the notification, residential land prices have been categorized as follows: Rs. 60 per square foot for plots up to 5,000 square feet, Rs. 75 per square foot for 5,000 to 10,000 square feet, Rs. 100 per square foot for 10,000 to 20,000 square feet, and Rs. 500 per square foot for plots exceeding 20,000 square feet. Commercial land rates range from Rs. 400 to Rs. 1,000 per square foot.
This landmark decision is expected to drive investment, improve infrastructure, and bring long-term economic benefits to the residents.
