Hanif Tareen, Sardar Muhammad Khondai:

Harnai: A complete wheel-jam strike was observed at Shahrag Phatak in protest against the attack on coal miners in Shahrag Takri on February 14.

Protesters blocked the Harnai-Quetta Road, halting all types of traffic. They strongly condemned the attack and demanded immediate action against those responsible.

On Friday morning, a vehicle transporting coal miners was targeted with an improvised explosive device (IED) in the Sharrah area of Harnai, leaving 11 miners dead and six injured.

Local protest leaders, including Mohammad Khan and Niamatullah, criticized the government for its failure to protect coal miners.
This is not the first time coal miners have been targeted in the area. The government has completely failed to provide security,” Mohammad Khan said.

Following the attack, security has been tightened in the region. The tragic incident has once again highlighted the growing security concerns for coal miners in Balochistan.
