Quetta: The Government of Balochistan has officially launched its Air Ambulance service, a long-awaited initiative aimed at improving emergency medical response in the province. This project, promised by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, is set to provide faster and more efficient medical transport, particularly in remote areas.

A Skilled Team to Operate the Service

Government spokesperson Shahid Rind confirmed that a seven-member crew has been appointed to run the air ambulance, ensuring swift medical assistance in critical situations.

Two-Year Pilot Program for Better Evaluation

The service will initially operate as a two-year pilot project, allowing authorities to assess its effectiveness and expand it based on real-time needs.

Empowering Young Pilots

In a move to support Pakistan’s growing aviation sector, the government has also recruited recently graduated trainee pilots, giving them an opportunity to gain essential flight hours required for their commercial licenses.

A Historic First: Female Pilot Joins the Team

For the first time, a female pilot from Gilgit-Baltistan has been included in the air ambulance team, marking a significant step towards gender inclusion in aviation. Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti personally directed this appointment, emphasizing the government’s commitment to equal opportunities.

Overseen by Aviation Experts

The initiative is being supervised by Director General of the Aviation Department, Ali Azad, ensuring smooth operations and strict compliance with safety regulations.

This game-changing project is expected to save countless lives by providing immediate medical transport and emergency care, making healthcare more accessible for the people of Balochistan.
