Governor Questions German Consul General’s Absence Over Security

Quetta: Balochistan Governor Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhail has strongly criticized the federal government for denying OC (Official Clearance) to the German Consul General, preventing him from attending an official event in Quetta.

The governor called the decision unjustified, arguing that Quetta is not facing a serious security crisis. Germany is investing 3 million Euro in Balochistan, yet we couldn’t ensure security for their envoy? If needed, we could have hosted him at the Governor House with a bulletproof vehicle, he said.

Foreign Delegates Often Barred

Experts note that this is not the first time European diplomats have been restricted from visiting Balochistan. Human rights organizations have repeatedly expressed concerns over limited international engagement in the province.
