Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA: Officers, employees, and faculty members of the University of Balochistan remain unpaid during the sacred month of Ramadan, raising concerns over financial hardships faced by the staff. Despite repeated appeals, the Balochistan government has not yet taken any serious steps to resolve the issue.

In a joint statement, Chairman of the Administrative Officers Staff Association, Nazeer Lehri, along with General Secretary Naimatullah Kakar, Vice Chairman Syed Mehboob Shah, Joint Secretary Syed Shah Babar, Press Secretary Abdullah Mengal, Finance Secretary Ismail Parkani, and other executive members, condemned the delay in salaries. They highlighted that the non-payment of salaries is affecting not only the employees but also their children’s education, as the academic year has begun.

Instead of releasing funds, the provincial government has issued orders for deductions in salary allowances, which the association has termed as an unjust move. The representatives urged the Education Minister and Finance Minister to ensure the implementation of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti’s clear directives for the immediate release of funds.

They stressed that timely salary payments are crucial so that faculty and staff can perform their duties with dignity, without facing unnecessary financial burdens.
