Quetta, March 19, 2025 – President Asif Ali Zardari has reaffirmed Pakistan’s determination to eliminate terrorism, emphasizing that no force can divide the nation. He stressed that securing victory in the fight against terrorism remains a top priority.
During a high-level meeting on law and order in Quetta on Wednesday, President Zardari expressed his deep commitment to Balochistan’s progress and long-term stability. Chairman Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari also attended the session, while Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti provided a detailed briefing on the province’s security situation. The meeting was also attended by Acting Governor Captain (Retd) Abdul Khaliq Achakzai, Chief Secretary Shakeel Qadir Khan, Inspector General of Police Moazzam Jah Ansari, and senior government officials.
Highlighting the importance of education, President Zardari stated that every child should be in school and equipped with modern technology. He also announced plans to strengthen the Counter-Terrorism Wing by providing it with advanced weaponry to enhance security operations against criminal and extremist elements.
Later, President Zardari met with members of Balochistan’s parliamentary parties, where Bilawal Bhutto Zardari was also present. The meeting brought together opposition leaders and representatives from various political parties, who discussed pressing issues and public welfare initiatives.
Speaking to the parliamentarians, President Zardari reaffirmed his deep-rooted ties with the people of Balochistan, emphasizing national unity as the key to progress. “Our goal is to empower the people by granting them their rightful share, not by depriving them,” he stated, pledging historic decisions to uplift the province.
He also announced plans to visit Balochistan after Eid, setting up a camp to personally engage with communities and address their concerns. Opposition Leader Mir Younas Aziz Zehri commended Chief Minister Sarfaraz Bugti’s governance and assured full cooperation.
The meeting was attended by prominent political figures, including National Party leader Dr. Abdul Malik Baloch, Pakistan Muslim League’s Mir Saleem Khan Khosa, Awami National Party’s Engineer Zamrak Khan Achakzai, and Jamaat-e-Islami’s Mir Abdul Majeed Badini. Several provincial ministers, cabinet members, parliamentary secretaries, and legislators also participated in the discussion.
