Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, highlighting China’s crucial role in driving economic growth.

Boao, Hainan: Pakistan’s Ambassador to China, Khalil Hashmi, has highlighted China’s crucial role in driving economic growth not only in Asia but across the global economy.

Speaking at the Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, held in Hainan, China, he emphasized that China contributes nearly 30% to the world’s GDP and is emerging as a global leader in industrialization, technology, and green energy solutions.

Pakistan-China Economic Cooperation on the Rise

Ambassador Hashmi underscored Pakistan-China economic cooperation, particularly in renewable energy, digital transformation, and electric vehicles (EVs).

“China’s advancements in eco-friendly technologies, including solar energy, battery production, and EV manufacturing, present significant opportunities for Pakistan. We are eager to strengthen collaboration in these sectors,” he stated.

He further mentioned that Pakistan is engaging with Chinese businesses to explore joint ventures in solar panel production, energy storage, and electric mobility solutions. The goal is to attract Chinese investment and accelerate Pakistan’s clean energy transition.

China’s Modernization: A Global Model for Developing Nations

Adding to the discussion, Pakistan’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Munir Akram, lauded China’s modernization as an economic miracle.

“China’s economic transformation over the past few decades is unparalleled. It has set an example for developing countries looking to transition into modern economies,” Akram said.

He pointed out that China’s Global Development Initiative (GDI) provides a valuable platform for emerging economies to learn from China’s success, enhance trade partnerships, and leverage Chinese technological expertise.

Boao Forum 2025: Shaping Asia’s Economic Future

The Boao Forum for Asia Annual Conference 2025, themed “Asia in a Changing World: Towards a Shared Future,” is taking place from March 25 to 28. The event gathers global leaders, economists, and industry experts to discuss the future of economic development, trade, and sustainability in Asia.
