Monitoring Desk:

Government spokesman Shahid Rind warned on Sunday that Sardar Akhtar Mengal would be arrested if he attempted to enter Quetta, citing orders issued under the Maintenance of Public Order (MPO). The statement was made in a post on social media platform X, where Shahid stated that the administration had already served MPO notices early in the morning and made it clear that any attempt to defy the orders would result in legal action.

He said law enforcement agencies had been deployed to enforce the directive and maintain peace in the provincial capital. “If anyone tries to violate the law or enter Quetta without permission, action will be taken immediately,” Shahid warned.

The spokesman also condemned calls for blocking national highways, calling them unlawful and a source of public hardship. He said all deputy commissioners and district police officials had been directed to ensure the highways remain open and that the public is not inconvenienced by political demonstrations.

According to Shahid, the government is committed to maintaining law and order and will not allow anyone to challenge its writ. He said the deployment of security forces, placement of containers, and other preventive measures were part of a broader plan to protect public safety.

He urged political groups to express their views within the bounds of the law and warned that any unlawful activity would be dealt with firmly under legal provisions.
