Qaseem Shah:

QUETTA, April 2025 – In a major move to curb illegal employment practices, the Balochistan Finance Department has directed all administrative secretaries to take strict action against government employees holding dual jobs.

According to a letter issued by Deputy Secretary (Admin/Treasuries) Muhammad Ibrahim Mengal, employees serving in two separate government posts simultaneously will face serious consequences including salary suspension, recovery of allowances, and even criminal charges.

The notification, dated April 2025, follows up on a previous letter issued on February 19, 2025, which stated that holding multiple government jobs—whether within the same department or across different federal and provincial departments—is a violation of Rule 467 of the Civil Service Regulations.

“Such combined appointments are unlawful. Employees must resign from one of the posts or retire from public service entirely,” the letter emphasized.

A high-level meeting of the Secretaries Committee, chaired by the Chief Secretary Balochistan on March 25, 2025, endorsed the following key actions.
