ISLAMABAD – May 7: Pakistan on Thursday claimed to have shot down 12 Israeli-made Harop drones deployed by India in a series of fresh airspace violations near major cities, including Karachi and Lahore.

The military vowed a strong response to what it called “unprovoked aggression,” warning that India would “continue to pay dearly” for such actions.

According to security sources, the drones entered Pakistani territory from multiple points and were targeted in different districts of Sindh. In one tragic incident, a local farmer identified as Mukhtar was killed, and his father seriously injured, after debris from a downed drone struck agricultural land.

In another high-risk breach, Pakistani forces downed a drone over Walton, Lahore, which was reportedly spying on the Allama Iqbal International Airport — a location surrounded by several sensitive security installations.

“Pakistan’s armed forces acted swiftly and decisively, delivering a strong response that neutralized the threat and thwarted all enemy designs,” said a senior defense official. “Such incidents expose India’s aggressive ambitions in the region.”

Officials emphasized that the Pakistan military remains fully prepared to defend the country’s sovereignty, warning that any future violations would be met with even greater force.

Tensions between the two nuclear-armed neighbors have escalated in recent weeks, with Islamabad accusing New Delhi of attempting to destabilize the region through provocative military tactics.
