Gwadar— A policeman embraced martyrdom and one attacker was killed in a grenade and gun assault near Bilal Mosque on Syed Hashmi Avenue in Gwadar.

The attackers targeted residential quarters of workers, police sources confirmed.

Following the grenade attack and aerial firing, the assailants attempted to flee. A courageous police constable immediately pursued them. In the exchange of fire, attacker Shah Jehan, resident of Dasht and currently living in TTC Colony Gwadar, was killed on the spot.

The second attacker, Shehzad from Bakhshi Colony Gwadar, was critically injured and apprehended.

The brave constable, Muhammad Khumari, succumbed to his injuries during the gun battle.

Three civilians from Muzaffargarh — Abdul Ghaffar, Naveed Ahmed, and Anwar — sustained minor injuries.

Authorities have launched a thorough investigation, and security in the area has been tightened.
