QUETTA, May 28, 2025: On the occasion of Youm-e-Takbeer, the Balochistan provincial government, along with civil society and political groups, organized rallies to commemorate Pakistan’s historic nuclear tests of May 28, 1998—a milestone in the country’s defense and sovereignty.
In the provincial capital Quetta, a major rally was led by Balochistan Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar, accompanied by Additional Deputy Commissioner (General) Mohammad Anwar Kakar and Additional Deputy Commissioner (Revenue) Mohammad Waqar Kakar. The rally began at the Deputy Commissioner’s Office and culminated at Assembly Chowk, passing through key city roads.
Speaking at the event, Health Minister Bakht Muhammad Kakar said, “Youm-e-Takbeer reminds us of Pakistan’s firm resolve to protect its sovereignty. We salute all those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our motherland.”
He added, “The courageous decision by former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to conduct nuclear tests was a defining moment in our national history.”
He further remarked, “The armed forces of Pakistan have always stood as a shield against external threats. Their sacrifices will always be remembered with pride.”
A large number of government officials, students, teachers, civil society members, and citizens participated in the rally, waving national flags and holding banners related to Youm-e-Takbeer. Patriotic songs added to the enthusiastic atmosphere.
Across Pakistan, similar rallies were organized by political parties, social organizations, and citizens. Marchers paid rich tribute to the martyrs and lauded the armed forces and leadership for making Pakistan a nuclear power—sending a strong message of deterrence and unity.
