World Bank Approves $194 Million Aid for Education and Water Projects in Balochistan

Islamabad, June 25 – The World Bank has approved $194 million in financial assistance for Balochistan to support two major development initiatives focused on education and clean water access.

According to an official statement issued by the World Bank, $10 million will be allocated to improve literacy rates among children in Balochistan. The education-focused project aims to enhance the quality of primary education, directly benefiting over 250,000 students by providing improved learning environments.

In addition, $94 million has been earmarked for a water security and agricultural productivity initiative. The project will enhance the livelihoods of small-scale farmers by utilizing water from the Nari, Talli, and Lora rivers, aiming to boost sustainable farming and ensure long-term water availability.

The World Bank’s latest funding package is being hailed as a significant step toward sustainable development in Balochistan, addressing both educational uplift and the pressing need for water infrastructure.
