Quetta – Chief Secretary Balochistan Shakeel Qadir Khan has directed all provincial departments to fast-track key strategic projects aimed at transforming infrastructure, improving public services, and ensuring long-term stability in the province.
Chairing a meeting of the Secretaries Committee, the Chief Secretary emphasized that the initiatives are designed to accelerate economic growth while enhancing the quality of life for citizens.
He highlighted major undertakings such as expanding road networks, installing solar systems, activating 164 Basic Health Units (BHUs), opening 1,200 schools (555 of which are ready), implementing the Safe City Project in eight cities, and establishing meat packaging plants along with fruit and vegetable markets. The construction of additional classrooms in 3,000 schools and improvements in municipal services, clean drinking water supply, and urban development also remain top priorities.
He instructed officers to remain at their posts to address public issues swiftly, warning that absenteeism hampers service delivery. The meeting also reviewed measures to ensure the timely completion of development projects so citizens can benefit from improved government facilities.
The session was attended by senior officials including Board of Revenue Senior Member Qambar Dashti, CMIT Chairman Muhammad Ali Kakar, Additional Chief Secretary (Development) Zahid Saleem, Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Hamza Shafqaat, and all provincial secretaries.
