The Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PMDC), responding to rising student concerns and recent media reports, convened a high-level meeting at its headquarters to review and clarify the admission policy for the 2025–26 session. The meeting focused on identifying practical solutions that ensure maximum relief, transparency, and convenience for students preparing for medical and dental admissions.

The session included PMDC council members, vice-chancellors of major medical universities, representatives from IBCC, and legal experts. Chairman of the National Assembly Standing Committee on National Health Services, Regulations & Coordination, Dr. Mahesh Kumar Malani, also participated as a special invitee.

PMDC reiterated that students remain its top priority and assured full support during this crucial admission phase. The council also clarified that the three-year validity of MDCAT results is legally defined and falls under Parliament’s jurisdiction, yet PMDC will continue to work in the best interest of students and safeguard their academic future.

All proposals and concerns submitted by student groups were reviewed in detail. PMDC confirmed that it will maintain complete cooperation with the court, presenting all feasible options with full transparency. The final decision—once issued by the court—will be binding on all institutions and candidates, and PMDC pledged to implement it without exception.

The council reaffirmed its commitment to providing students with clarity, confidence, and a smooth admission process for the upcoming session.
