ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates (UAE) held what officials described as “substantive talks” on Friday, focusing on expanding their longstanding partnership and further strengthening bilateral cooperation. The discussions followed the conclusion of President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan’s first official visit to Pakistan.

Although the Emirati leader previously met Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif in Rahim Yar Khan earlier this year, this trip marked his first formal visit to the country since assuming the presidency, the Foreign Office noted.

During the meetings, both sides reaffirmed their resolve to maintain close coordination on key issues of mutual concern and exchanged perspectives on major regional and global developments. They expressed satisfaction with the positive momentum in relations and underscored their commitment to advancing peace, stability and sustainable development.

According to the statement, the visit is expected to further solidify the “brotherly” bonds between the two nations and reinforce their evolving strategic partnership.
