QUETTA – Balochistan is set to kickstart a comprehensive tree plantation campaign across educational institutions in the province, a senior official revealed on Monday. In an exclusive interview, Imran Gichki Secretary Forest and Wildlife, confirmed that the initiative would be launched under the name of Asifa Bhutto Zardari, daughter of the late Prime Minister Benazir Bhutto, reflecting the government’s commitment to environmental sustainability and greening the province.
Speaking to local media, Gichki said the campaign was being organized under the leadership of Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti, who has prioritized environmental conservation as a key part of his developmental agenda. “This initiative aims to plant thousands of trees in schools, colleges, and universities across Balochistan, promoting awareness about environmental protection among the youth,” he said.
The official highlighted that the campaign would not only contribute to combating climate change and desertification but also encourage students and communities to actively participate in green initiatives. Partnerships with local authorities, development organizations, and community leaders have been secured to ensure the campaign’s success.
“This program is a step toward creating a greener and healthier future for Balochistan’s next generation,” Gichki added. Preparations are underway, with a formal launch expected in the coming weeks, marking a significant milestone in the province’s ongoing efforts to promote environmental responsibility and sustainable development.
