Quetta, March 5, 2026: A joint meeting between Balochistan Police and Pakistan Customs Preventive was held at the Central Police Office to strengthen coordination against the use and smuggling of non-custom-paid vehicles in the province.

The meeting was chaired by Inspector General of Police Balochistan Muhammad Tahir and attended by Collector Pakistan Customs Preventive Dr. Karam Elahi, along with senior officials from both departments.

During the meeting, the IG Police said that whenever Balochistan Police seizes non-custom-paid vehicles during operations, the vehicles are handed over to Pakistan Customs Preventive after completing all legal formalities. He noted that such vehicles are often used in illegal activities, posing serious challenges for law enforcement agencies.

He further stated that the use of non-custom-paid vehicles causes significant financial losses to the national exchequer and emphasized the importance of strict action to curb this practice.

Collector Customs Preventive Balochistan Dr. Karam Elahi appreciated the ongoing campaign launched by Balochistan Police against non-custom-paid vehicles. He said the crackdown is not only targeting the smuggling of such vehicles but also their use, sale, and purchase in the province.

Officials from both departments agreed to implement a coordinated strategy to intensify joint operations against non-custom-paid vehicles and ensure strict enforcement of the law.

At the end of the meeting, a formal handover ceremony was held in which 30 non-custom-paid vehicles worth approximately Rs80 million were handed over to customs authorities after completion of legal proceedings.

During the ceremony, DIG Quetta Imran Shaukat formally handed over the seized vehicles to Collector Customs Balochistan Dr. Karam Elahi, marking another step in the ongoing efforts to curb illegal vehicle operations in the province.
