Quetta, March 17 — A significant number of travelers have returned from Iran over the past few weeks, entering through border districts in Balochistan, as provincial authorities continue to manage the influx with coordinated efforts.

According to a statement shared by Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti on X, a total of 5,615 individuals arrived between February 28 and last night through the districts Gwadar and Chaghi.

The Chief Minister noted that among those who crossed into Pakistan were 2,117 Iranian drivers, along with 431 other foreign nationals, reflecting the continued movement of people across the border.

He praised the district administrations of Gwadar and Chagai for their effective handling of the situation, stating that officials ensured proper care, assistance, and onward travel arrangements for all incoming passengers.

Bugti emphasized that the Government of Balochistan remains fully alert and committed to facilitating travelers at border crossing points. “All necessary measures are in place to ensure safety, comfort, and smooth processing,” he said.

The development highlights the strategic importance of Balochistan’s border regions, particularly Gwadar and Chagai, in managing cross-border movement and humanitarian coordination.
