Mir Salam Jogezai: A significant step has been taken toward improving women’s health and well-being in Balochistan, as key stakeholders reached a consensus on reducing taxes on essential hygiene products.

The development came during a meeting chaired by Provincial Education Minister Raheela Hameed Durrani. The session was attended by Members of Parliament Akhtar Bibi, Rehmat Saleh Baloch, Secretary Abdullah Khan, Dr. Tahira Kamal Baloch, along with representatives from United Nations agencies.

Participants agreed to present a joint resolution in the Balochistan Assembly, proposing a 50 percent reduction, or complete elimination, of taxes on essential women’s health products.

Speakers at the meeting emphasized that the proposed measure would provide much-needed financial relief to low-income women and significantly improve health and hygiene standards across the province.
