Ayub Bhutto: 

Dera Murad Jamali (Balochistan) – April 15, 2026: A police constable was shot dead in a brazen terror attack while guarding a female polio vaccination team in the T&T Colony area of Dera Murad Jamali.

According to police, the incident occurred when a polio team entered a house to administer polio drops to children. Constable Farman Bashir Behrani, who was providing security outside, came under fire from armed motorcyclists. He was killed on the spot.

The attackers fled immediately after the shooting. Police reached the scene, shifted the body to Civil Hospital Dera Murad Jamali, and launched a search operation by sealing off the area.

Deputy Commissioner Nasirabad Zulfiqar Ali Karar and SSP Nasirabad Asad Nisar visited the hospital shortly after the incident.

Speaking to reporters, SSP Asad Nasar confirmed that the attack was an act of terrorism and said that investigations are underway from all angles.

This tragic incident once again highlights the dangers faced by health workers and security personnel involved in Pakistan’s national polio eradication campaign.
