Quetta, April 28, 2026 — Severe weather across parts of Balochistan has claimed four lives, including two children, in a series of tragic incidents linked to heavy rainfall, lightning, and strong winds.
According to officials, the fatalities were reported from the districts of Musakhel, Nasirabad, and Jafarabad. In Musakhel, one man was killed after being struck by lightning. In Nasirabad, two children lost their lives in a similar incident, highlighting the dangers of sudden thunderstorms in open areas.
Another fatality occurred in Jafarabad, where powerful winds caused a wall to collapse. A man was trapped under the rubble and died at the scene.
Authorities say that while rescue and response efforts are underway, teams are also assessing the broader impact of the rains, including damage to homes, crops, and local infrastructure. The full scale of financial losses is still being determined.
Residents have been advised to remain cautious, avoid unnecessary travel, and take safety precautions during unstable weather, as further rain and thunderstorms are expected in the coming days.
The recent incidents underline the vulnerability of communities during extreme weather, especially in rural and underdeveloped areas where protective infrastructure is limited.
