Web Desk: Mobile internet services in Quetta have been temporarily suspended due to security concerns, the Balochistan government announced on Tuesday, assuring citizens that the measure is precautionary and aimed at ensuring public safety.

Adviser to the Balochistan Government on Home Affairs, Babar Yousafzai, said the temporary suspension of mobile internet services was implemented in light of specific security threats in the provincial capital.

“The protection of citizens’ lives and property remains the government’s top priority. This decision has been taken solely to maintain public safety and prevent any potential security risks,” Yousafzai said.

He acknowledged the inconvenience caused to residents and apologized for the temporary disruption in internet connectivity, emphasizing that the step was necessary to safeguard public security.

The adviser further stated that mobile internet services in Quetta will be restored as soon as the security situation stabilizes. He also urged the public to avoid spreading or believing rumors and to rely only on official sources for updates.

The temporary suspension comes as authorities continue to monitor the security situation in Quetta and take preventive measures to maintain law and order across the city.
