QUETTA: Senior Provincial Minister and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) leader Sadiq Umrani has strongly condemned the tragic killing of a traveler in the Dasht area, terming it a blatant violation of Balochistan’s sacred tribal hospitality and cultural values.
Expressing deep grief over the incident, Umrani revealed that the deceased, identified as Ali Murtaza, was traveling to Karachi with his wife and children. After losing his way, Murtaza accidentally took a wrong turn into the Dasht area, a mistake that ultimately cost him his life.
The provincial minister emphasized that attacking a guest—especially one traveling with family and women—is completely alien to the centuries-old traditions of the region. He warned that such a cruel and unjustified act not only tramples upon tribal norms but also risks inciting widespread anger and division among brotherly communities, tarnishing the hospitable image of the people of Balochistan.
Umrani urged law enforcement to take immediate action against the perpetrators to ensure justice is served and to preserve the peace and traditional values of the province.
