QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti has welcomed the completion of training for 600 women under the Women Entrepreneurship Development Program, describing the initiative as a significant step toward advancing women’s economic empowerment in the province.
In a message posted on the social media platform X, the Chief Minister said the provincial government is working to expand women’s access to education, skills development, employment, entrepreneurship and economic opportunities.
He said 100 women have also received financial assistance to establish their own businesses, describing the support as a practical demonstration of the government’s commitment to promoting women’s financial independence and self-reliance.
Government prioritizes women’s economic empowerment
CM Sarfraz Bugti said the Balochistan government aims to ensure that every girl in the province has access to skills, education and employment opportunities.
“We want every daughter of Balochistan to have skills, knowledge and employment in her hands, not ammunition,” he said, emphasizing the importance of creating constructive opportunities for young women.
The Chief Minister said women’s economic empowerment is essential to the development and prosperity of Balochistan. He added that entrepreneurship and skills-based initiatives can enable women to support their families and contribute meaningfully to the provincial economy.
Sarfraz Bugti also criticized terrorist elements, alleging that while the government is working to empower women and expand their opportunities, terrorist groups are attempting to steer Baloch girls toward violence and destruction.
He said such elements seek to associate the future of young girls with terrorism, violence and destruction, while the government aims to link their future with education, skills, employment and prosperity.
“The people of Balochistan have to decide whether they see the future of their daughters in education and development or in terrorism and destruction,” the Chief Minister said.
Commitment to women’s development
CM Sarfraz Bugti said the provincial government would continue working to provide women with safe, meaningful and sustainable opportunities in education, employment and entrepreneurship.
The latest initiative has trained 600 women, while financial assistance has enabled 100 participants to begin establishing their own businesses.
