QUETTA — Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfaraz Bugti reaffirmed on Thursday that there is no active insurgency in the province, stating that a handful of anti-state elements are pushing sub-nationalist narratives based on ethnic identity to mislead youth into a fruitless conflict.
​Addressing participants of the 21st National Workshop Balochistan at a local forum in Quetta, Chief Minister Bugti emphasized that foreign-backed entities operating from abroad are running organized propaganda campaigns to divide Pakistan.
​”Anti-state elements wish to slice Pakistan like a cake, but no conspiracy aimed at damaging the integrity of the country will ever succeed,” Bugti asserted. Senator Dinesh Kumar, Coordinator to CM on Information and Political Affairs Shahid Rind, and Principal Secretary Imran Zarkoon were also present on the occasion.
​’Violence Is Not the Answer to Underdevelopment’
​Rejecting the narrative that regional disparities and economic deprivation justify armed resistance, Chief Minister Bugti noted that uneven growth is a global phenomenon seen in many developing and developed nations alike.
​”Disparities in development exist across the world, including Pakistan. However, taking up arms or shedding innocent blood under the guise of deprivation is nowhere acceptable,” the Chief Minister said. He urged young people to distinguish between reality and rhetoric, encouraging them to learn the authentic history of their province.
​He further appealed to the youth to reject anti-state propaganda and focus their energy on education, skill development, and constructive opportunities for a brighter future.
​AI-Based Testing introduced to Guarantee Merit in Recruitment
​Highlighting governance reforms aimed at bridging the trust gap between the state and the youth, Chief Minister Bugti announced that the provincial government has integrated an Artificial Intelligence (AI)-based testing system for public sector job recruitments.
​”To ensure complete transparency and meritocracy, we have introduced AI technology in our recruitment procedures. No deserving candidate will be deprived of their right, and public sector employment will strictly be awarded on merit,” he declared.
​100% PSDP Progress & Unbiased Accountability
​Sharing operational milestones, the Chief Minister revealed that Balochistan achieved a 100 percent implementation rate on its Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) over the past two years.
​To curb corruption and improve service delivery, the provincial government has reactivated both the Anti-Corruption Department and the Chief Minister’s Inspection Team (CMIT).
​”In an unprecedented move toward transparent governance, the CM Inspection Team began its development audits from my own constituency.
This sends a crystal-clear message that accountability in Balochistan will be indiscriminate and strict,” Bugti stated, adding that several corrupt officials have already been arrested under ongoing anti-graft drives.
​Following his address, Chief Minister Bugti led an interactive Q&A session lasting over two and a half hours, addressing key historical facts, provincial security, economic policies, and governance challenges. He also distributed laptops to high-performing female students to encourage academic excellence.
