RAWALPINDI :Grievances raised by MDCAT 2026 aspirants over the examination process, question booklets and answer keys have now reached the court, with an urgent petition listed before the Rawalpindi Bench of the Lahore High Court.
According to the Urgent Cause List dated September 28, 2026, Writ Petition No. 3516/2026, titled Rayyan Shahid Malik vs Islamic Republic of Pakistan through Secretary, was listed before Justice Syed Ahsan Raza Kazmi in Court No. 4 under the category of educational institutions, medical and health institutions.
The petition comes after MDCAT aspirants allege discrepancies in the examination process. Candidates allege that question booklets were not provided to them, making it difficult for them to independently verify the questions they attempted during the test.
Some candidates have further alleged that mistakes were present in the answer keys uploaded after the examination. The allegations have led to concerns among candidates who are seeking clarification and review of the disputed questions and answers.
The candidates allege that the absence of question booklets has made it difficult to substantiate their objections, particularly where they believe an answer in the official key may be incorrect. However, these remain allegations raised by candidates and have not been established by the court.
The matter has therefore attracted attention as MDCAT candidates seek a formal mechanism to address their grievances and verify any alleged discrepancies in the examination and answer key.
It is worth clarifying that the September 28 date shown in the court document is the date of the urgent cause list. The official MDCAT 2026 examination in Punjab was conducted on September 20, 2026, according to reporting on the UHS examination and subsequent review process.
