RAWALPINDI: Bahrain’s Foreign Minister Dr Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani met Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces (COAS & CDF) Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir at General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi on Wednesday.

The military’s media wing, Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), said the meeting discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security situation and bilateral defence and security cooperation.

According to ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir highlighted the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and Bahrain, describing the ties as based on shared values and mutual respect.

He reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening bilateral cooperation, particularly in the defence and security sectors.

The Bahraini foreign minister appreciated the professionalism and operational preparedness of the Pakistan Armed Forces, ISPR said. He also reiterated Bahrain’s resolve to enhance bilateral cooperation and acknowledged Pakistan’s contributions to regional peace and stability.

The meeting reflects ongoing engagement between Pakistan and Bahrain on defence, security and regional issues.
