News Desk: Former fugitive commander Noor Khan Bugti has surrendered to the state along with his family members and companions, bringing a total of 60 people back into the national mainstream in Balochistan, the provincial government said on Sunday.

Noor Khan Bugti and his companions took an oath of allegiance to Pakistan before Balochistan Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti at Pakistan House in Sui on October 11, 2026. The development took place during the chief minister’s open court session.

According to the government, Noor Khan Bugti had spent around 20 years in the mountains and was allegedly involved in several terrorist activities in the past. Following his surrender, he and his family are expected to settle in Sui.

Speaking on the occasion, Chief Minister Sarfraz Bugti said lasting peace and development in Balochistan required loyalty to Pakistan, respect for the Constitution and law, and national unity.

He said the establishment of peace across the province and the country was a shared responsibility, adding that abandoning violence and accepting the authority of the state were essential for returning to normal civilian life.

“Pakistan is our shared homeland, and its security, sovereignty and stability cannot be compromised,” the chief minister said.

Bugti said peace and stability were necessary to protect citizens’ lives and property, strengthen the economy, promote education and secure a better future for young people.

He added that the people of Balochistan wanted peace, development and prosperity, urging the province’s youth to use their abilities to contribute to national progress.

The chief minister said returning to the national mainstream could create better prospects for the individuals concerned, their families and their communities.

He added that state institutions were continuing efforts to establish lasting peace in Balochistan and called for broader public cooperation to promote national unity, uphold the rule of law and achieve shared development goals.
